Product: Engine Ice

Company: Bike Bandit

Price: $17.95

Consumer: Motorcyclists

The purpose of Engine Ice is as a coolant.

Pros: Keeping a motorcycle engine running cool is imperative. Keeping it from freezing during the cold winter months is essential. Engine Ice is a high-performance coolant that is nontoxic and biodegradable. Engine Ice has been proven to reduce operating temperatures by as much as 50°F. Engine Ice is also antifreeze, providing protection down to -26°F. You’ve no doubt used other coolants but I promise you that you have never used one that is anywhere near as good as Engine Ice. You WILL be amazed!

Engine Ice is road race legal. It is sanctioned by AMA, CCS, and FUSA. Engine Ice comes premixed with iron-free water. It’s recommended that you flush your engine with vinegar and distilled water before using Engine Ice. It’s safe for your engine, and it’s safe for the environment! Double winner!

Cons: I would have liked to have found a firm satisfaction of guarantee statement on the website. However, since there IS a return policy, I would think that there is a guarantee of satisfaction implied. The Engine Ice appears to be exactly as advertised.

Guarantee: There is no guarantee of satisfaction statement that I could find on the Bike Bandit website. There is, however, a return policy. You must make returns within 15 days and follow the directions that you’ll find on the packing slip.

Value for money: The asking price for the Engine Ice is fair and Engine Ice appears to be exactly as advertised. It is a good value.

Motorcycle OEM Parts

Product: OEM Parts

Company: Bike Bandit

Price: Varies by product

Consumer: Motorcyclists

The purpose of the OEM Parts is to replace parts on a motorcycle with exact duplicates of the original part.

Pros: The acronym, OEM, stands for Original Equipment Manufacturer. OEM means different things in different contexts. In the automobile and motorcycle industry, it means that a federally licensed manufacturer that is required to warrant or guarantee the part actually manufactured the part or had it manufactured on their behalf. After-market parts manufacturers are not held to the same level of liability.

The price of OEM parts is generally higher than the price of the same after market parts. While the OEM part and the after-market part may be appear to be identical and may function in the same way, there is not the same level of liability attached to the after-market part. That’s why so many insist that the parts they use to repair their motorcycles be OEM parts.

Cons: I would have liked to have found a firm satisfaction of guarantee statement on the website. However, since there IS a return policy, I would think that there is a guarantee of satisfaction implied. The OEM Parts appear to be exactly as advertised.
